Purity of the Word of God
In the "modern church" their is much made of Romans 8:1 " there is therefore no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus", often forgetting to continue to read the rest of the verse. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. In modern bible translations the last part of the verse is left out, and for obvious reason. You see in this modern age we live in the spirit of the age (Satan) is working hard to give assurance of salvation to so many that are on their way to eternal damnation. What better way to damn someone than to make them think they are saved. Scripture is a constant reminder to us that if we walk in the flesh then we are not saved. The word of God makes no room for those that are disobedient to Gods Word and walk after their own desires. Those that do not live their lives for Christ, picking up their cross daily to follow the King of Kings, will suffer damnation, death and torture for eternity. Scripture calls us to examine ourselves (see 1John) to see if we have truly been saved, to see if we have really been born again, going into the grave and dying to self and being raised again in newness of life with Jesus Christ.
